Individual Mental Performance Consultation

Develop your performance edge through Mental Training Skills

Mental training skills are a non-clinical therapy that focuses on personal development and growth through effective techniques geared toward self-improvement and achievement. Whether you are an athlete or performer, active or retired military, or a business professional, an aspect of your everyday performance has an important mental component.

Regardless of the performance “edge” that has brought you to seeking mental performance consulting, whether you have reached a low point in your career or are seeking to gain an advantage over competition, I hope to partner with you as you traverse your path to success while making meaningful change that lasts.

I specialize in taking a values and mindful-based approach to help clients learn and utilize various mental skills, tailored to their specific need/interest, to improve performance and overall well-being. As we partner together, your performance enhancement journey will be completely tailored to you.

Although there are a multitude of mental training skills, I specialize in focus/concentration, goal setting and evaluation, time management, communication skills, leadership, and stress management.

“We Can’t always control circumstances. However, you can always control your attitude, approach, and response”

  • Develop the ability to cue and maintain physical and mental attentional focus. The Quiet Eye (QE) is one technique we can train that utilizes gaze control just moments before taking action. Effectively using QE has shown to decrease nervousness and increase performance outcomes.

  • Goals help us stay motivated and should be done in a way that is focused on improvement and trying to reach your vision. This can be achieved by setting goals that are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, time-sensitive, and within your control. Regularly revisiting and assessing your progress on achieving your vision and goals should be an ongoing process to keep them fresh on your mind and allow for adjustments when needed, leading to meeting your vision.

  • Finding a schedule that improves your efficiency and productivity is key to taking successful action-steps towards your goals. As every person is unique, so is being creative in managing time in a way that fits you and your needs. Whether a paper planner or making a to-do list, managing time should make sense for you and be stress free.

  • Ever feel misunderstood when trying to communicate with others or find what you say to yourself to be frustrating? Whether communication is an area of growth or something that comes easily, developing communication skills is beneficial as communication is apart of, and influences, our everyday lives.

  • Whether leading a sport team, unit, or board room, developing leadership skills is a continual process. Growing and developing yourself will translate to your improved ability to guide your team in a successful manner while working together to meet common goals.

  • Every person has an optimal level of activation that leads to peak performance. Developing a stable routine prior to, and during, performance to ensure you are at your optimal level of activation has shown to improve performance outcomes. Additionally, learning to control what you can control and influencing what you cannot provides a healthy perspective to deal with perceived stress.
